What should a first-time patient keep ready?

PGIMER’s live registration form determines the exact information required online. For the visit itself, a sensible preparation set is the patient’s identification/contact information plus the medical documents relevant to the reason for referral. Avoid carrying unnecessary sensitive originals unless they are genuinely needed.

If you use PGIMER online pre-registration

The current new-patient form asks for a visiting department and an available visit date before the patient details. PGIMER also notes that the browser may need to allow a pop-up window to display available visit dates.

After completing the official process, keep the generated pre-registration details and still check the department schedule. Pre-registration should not be interpreted as a guaranteed consultant/unit appointment.

What to expect when you arrive

Follow the current instructions generated by PGIMER and the hospital’s on-site signs/reception guidance. PGIMER is a large campus with several centres and blocks, so the correct department location matters as much as the date.

• Travelling only on the basis of a generic “PGI timing” without checking the department day.
• Assuming online pre-registration reserves a specific doctor.
• Registering as a new patient when an existing PGIMER CR Number already exists.
• Entering hospital credentials on a third-party site.
• Arriving for a routine OPD issue through an emergency route, or delaying emergency care while trying to book a routine OPD slot.
